Liz joined the firm in 2010 when Bowmans Family Law Solicitors merged with Ison Harrison. Liz qualified as a Solicitor in 1982 and has acted as a family lawyer ever since.
Liz is a member of the Law Society Children’s panel and has attained Higher Rights of Audience (Civil). She has also undertaken LSC Approved Mediation Training. Additionally, Liz sits as a Recorder in the Family Courts.
Liz's primary area of practice is acting for children in care proceedings. She also acts for parents and other family members in those proceedings. She has extensive experience in advising on and representing clients in applications relating to adoption and special guardianship orders. She has particular interest in securing the appropriate support (including financial support) for those who apply for special guardianship orders. In addition, she has experience in secure accommodation applications and applications for discharge of care orders.
With regard to private law family matters, Liz has extensive experience acting for children and parents in complex residence and contact disputes.
As far as possible Liz undertakes her own advocacy in all Courts from the Family Proceedings Court to the High Court.
