Leeds Community Foundation
Our chosen charity for fundraising in 2010 is The Leeds Community Foundation.
The Leeds Community Foundation helps improve the quality of life of people living in disadvantaged communities. They do this by making financial grants to support charities, voluntary and community sector groups of which there are over 3,000 in Leeds. The groups provide a range of services across the city - some focus their work on specific areas of Leeds, others work with specific age groups e.g. the elderly or children and young people, and others are targeting issues such as homelessness and drug addiction. Each group continues to make a difference to the lives of people in Leeds every day.
The grants can vary from a few hundred pounds to several thousand pounds. The Leeds Community Foundation encourages a spirit of local giving and helps donors to make a long-term difference to the communities in which they live and work.
