We are delighted to have been chosen by Headway as their ‘corporate baton holder’ for 2009.
2009 sees Headway, the brain injury association, celebrates 30 years of charitable support to people who have sustained brain injuries.
Acquired brain injury refers to any form of brain injury that has occurred since birth. Traumatic brain injuries account for the majority of brain injuries. There are estimated to be between 500,000 people across the UK suffering from long term disabilities consequent to a traumatic brain injury. Approximately half the deaths of people under the age of 40 years are due to traumatic brain injury.
The personality, physical and behavioural impacts of a brain injury can be very severe. Headway supports both the injured person and their carers. They ensure that appropriate rehabilitation facilities, professional advice and treatment funds are made available.
