Joining Ison Harrison in 2001 as a partner, Richard was given the challenge of expanding the firm’s commercial profile.

As a lawyer, Richard has built up an enviable reputation for providing practical commercial advice on disputes, follows through on threatened litigation, encourages mediation and deals with people in a straightforward manner.

So successful have his efforts been that several highly skilled commercial lawyers have been attracted to the firm as the department’s reputation has grown; consequently, the Company Commercial team now thrives and offers the fullest range of commercial services.

In 2006 Richard was made Finance Partner and Chairman of the firm’s Management Board and has since brought a focus and eye-for-detail which has enabled the business to become stronger, more efficient and able to exert commercial ‘clout’ throughout the region.

As Finance Partner, Richard’s commercial ‘savvy’ and his ‘safe pair of hands’ have been employed to crucial effect; increased turnover and profitability have inevitably followed under his stewardship.
