Daniel Kenworthy, Branch Manager and Licensed Conveyancer at our Pontefract branch, spoke to Bradley Sutcliffe of Logic Real Estate who opened up a new Estate Agent in Pontefract right in the middle of lockdown.
Bradley had previously been working for another Estate Agent and was concerned when businesses started to slow down during lockdown. He was also conscious that with time on their hands, a high proportion of people would be putting their properties under the spotlight and if they were unable to improve or extend, they would be looking to move once lockdown was over “I anticipated that there would be a boom post-lockdown and decided that I would take a risk and set up on my own from the 1st June. I knew it was a risk but I decided that if I could ensure I had everything in place for when the market started moving again I would be on the front foot. I relied on videos in the absence of face to face viewings to enable my customers to continue to look for houses and ensured I provided a quick and efficient service.”
Since he opened 10 weeks ago Brad has had 58 houses on the market and has already sold 38 of these. “I am delighted with how things are going. I think because I tried to keep things going for buyers and sellers as much as I could during lockdown people have recommended me to their friends and families, which is a real compliment as I am still a new face on the High Street.”
Daniel from our Pontefract branch said “Despite lean times during lockdown we have seen positive trends in the property market and are now receiving new instructions similar to levels pre COVID.”
“As a conveyancer, I am lucky that the vast majority of my work can be completed electronically and it has been refreshing to see clients, other law firms and companies adopt similar approaches.”
“It has been a pleasure to see Brad and Logic Real Estate enter into the market with a strong start. Brad has brought a fresh approach to our region. His use of social media has really hit the mark. We look forward to working with him as the business expands”
