  • Conveyancer/Executive – Huddersfield

    A vacancy has arisen for a residential property conveyancer, based at our Huddersfield office.

    The role involves managing a busy caseload of sale and purchase matters from file opening to completion. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of freehold and leasehold transactions and be able to work with minimum supervision once trained on our Case Management System and processes. They will also be motivated and able to create a solid client base in and around the area and will pride themselves on delivering a first class service throughout the entire conveyancing process.

    Job Description 

    Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client’s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.

    • Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly.
    • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
    • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
    • Delegated supervisory responsibilities as and when required
    • Maintaining legal knowledge and skills
    • Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures
    • Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
    • Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm

  • Conveyancing Assistant – Pudsey/Garforth/Huddersfield

    We are currently recruiting for Conveyancing Assistants to join our busy Pudsey, Garforth and Huddersfield offices on a full-time basis. The role is very client focused and the successful candidate will pride themselves on delivering a professional, helpful and friendly service.

    Experience in residential conveyancing is essential as we would ideally want the applicant to hit the ground running. They will be a quick and accurate worker and be able to follow instructions carefully while dealing with a high volume of work. There will be a great deal of client contact, both face to face and on the telephone, so a good level of spoken English and a professional, friendly manner are essential. The successful applicant will be a team player with a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude and experience in both sale and purchase matters.

    Responsibilities:

    • Opening new files and inputting new instructions onto the Case Management system and producing relevant letters and documents
    • Updating the Case Management system in accordance with team procedures as the matter progresses
    • Dealing with incoming post where appropriate
    • Dealing with telephone enquiries where possible or taking messages for colleagues
    • Filing, billing, faxing, photocopying, sorting post and archiving
    • Maintain diaries and make appointments when required
    • General administration duties for the office and firm
    • Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment

  • Accounts Executive

    We are currently recruiting for an accounts executive, based at our city centre office on Wellington Street, Leeds. Ison Harrison offers a full range of legal services from its 13 offices across West Yorkshire.  The accounts work is centralised and the successful candidate will join a busy team which processes a high number of transactions, reconciles ledgers and produces reports for managers and fee-earners by location, cost centres and work-type. 

    This role requires a candidate who is highly accurate and able to work efficiently to meet strict deadlines.  They will be professional and helpful, able to develop good relationships with colleagues and suppliers. 

    The successful candidate will have a Level 3 AAT qualification, preferably with experience working for a solicitors firm.  They will be a team player with a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude, able to keep calm and focused during busy periods.

    Job Summary:

    • To provide accurate and up to date financial information for the finance partner and other senior managers.
    • To ensure the successful development of both the department and the firm in line with the annual and 5 year business plans.
    • Responsible to: Accounts Manager

    Key Tasks:

    • Cover for Head of Accounts and Accounts Manager in their absence including reporting to the finance partner.
    • Processing of purchase invoices and credit notes on a daily basis to ensure data is accurate, complete and up to date. 
    • Processing supplier payment runs and monthly credit card reconciliations.
    • Deal with supplier’s email and telephone enquiries regarding invoices politely and promptly.
    • Processing and payment of employee expense claims on a weekly basis. 
    • Maintaining the nominal ledger, including the preparation and posting of prepayments, accruals and other journals.
    • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, including profit & loss account and balance sheet. 
    • Producing reports and Excel spreadsheets for fee earners and managers as required. 
    • Assisting with monthly payroll as required.
    • Keeping up to date with legislation to ensure compliance with HMRC VAT regulations. 
    • Ensuring confidentiality at all times.
