Asbestosis

Asbestosis is a lung disease caused by exposure to asbestos and not as often thought a term describing all asbestos related illnesses.

The condition is a type of pneumoconiosis and a result of inhalation of asbestos fibres as possibly as far back as 30 years, this is due to the long latency period of the condition.

Asbestosis is usually diagnosed after testing by X-ray, Scan and Lung Function.

What are the Symptoms of Asbestosis?

  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Cough
  • Wheezing
  • Finger Clubbing

The symptoms can be managed and treatment may include oxygen.

The prognosis for someone with asbestosis is dependent on numerous factors.

Once diagnosed with asbestosis you may fee worried and concerned.
