He was a friend to so many and a fearless advocate for his clients in the field of public law and civil liberties. Simon was diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2011. He came into work for as long as he was able and then remained at home with his family for as long as could. He went into St Gemma’s Hospice on 29th December 2012 and died there the following morning, his wife Jude, daughter Rose and son Joe with him. He will be sorely missed.
