We have a longstanding commitment to being involved with community groups, initiatives and events- and this year is no exception. One event we’re really looking forward to is the forthcoming Charity Egg Run at the famous Squires Café.
Friendly solicitors in Leeds
The café is situated in an area served by our Garforth and Crossgates branches and we are delighted to help out at what is becoming a bigger and bigger event every year. 2018 sees the 10th annual egg run on Sunday 25th March and the organisers at Squires are hoping to break their attendance record with over 1000 participants.
Squires is a family run café that has existed since 1954 when it was known as a Milk Bar. Situated just off junction 42 of the A1, it very quickly became a meeting point for bikers, and has since evolved into a thriving centre for the biking community, with regular meets and events happening throughout the year, such as car meets, autojumbles, talks and bike roadshows.
The Egg Run is one such event, setting off from the café at 11.00am with the aim of reaching nearby Malton around 12.30pm. There are stalls, food and bands playing at both locations and the properly marshalled bike run is a visual feast with many participants undertaking the event in fancy dress. Last year the event raised over £7,000 and this year’s charity, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, will be hoping for another bumper turnout.
Helping out at the Squires annual Egg Run
Squires is one of those businesses that seems to go down in folklore, with people travelling from all over the country to meet there. It becomes much bigger than its basic purpose, as a café and event space, but it does that really well too, also offering camping and caravan pitches for their events so that people can stay over and enjoy a weekend.
It is this friendly, pioneering spirit that has encouraged Ison Harrison to help out with the Egg Run. We will have a stall at Squires headed by Gareth Naylor, Partner and Head of Personal Injury. Our team will be on hand to offer legal advice on personal injury but also can offer information, contacts and support for other legal issues people may have. The stall will feature a fantastic Manx TT arcade game!
Squires has served generations of people over the years and provided a friendly, welcoming environment that people want to come back to over and over again. In that sense, we have an awful lot in common. It looks set to be a brilliant day and we hope to see you there!
