Having been a Director at two previous law firms, Richard joined Ison Harrison Solicitors as a Partner and Head of Corporate in February 2019.
Richard brings a wealth of experience across a wide range of legal issues such as corporate and commercial law, litigation and dispute resolution and associated employment related issues. This range of experience means that Richard is ideally suited to advising business on the plethora of legal issues they can face on a daily basis.
Richard has previously advised national financial institutions, car manufacturers and an international pharmaceutical company but his passion is for helping local SME’s and Owner Managed Businesses to achieve success through strong legal support and compliance.
Clients recognise Richard for his commercial awareness and that his ‘aims focused’ approach to the provision of legal services means that he advises clients in a manner designed to help them achieve their long term goals.
Clients and contacts further recognise Richard as a fantastic ‘connector’ of people. He strives not only to provide first class legal advice and support but also actively goes over and beyond to help his client’s businesses to succeed, save time and cost by seeking to introduce clients and contacts to mutual connections for their mutual benefit.
This personable approach has time and again resulted in clients having close relationships with Richard knowing that he will always be in their corner to offer advice and support.
Not only is Richard recognised as an expert by clients but he also recognised as a leading lawyer by his peers. Richard has, on a number of occasions, delivered training to the legal profession including training on the request of Leeds Law Society. Richard regularly speaks publicly at events to local businesses and regularly appears on BBC Radio Leeds as a Legal Expert. In 2015, unbeknown to Richard, he was shortlisted for a national legal award in the ‘Rising Star’ category.
Whilst Richard’s focus is often on transactional and contractual support for businesses by ensuring that they have the appropriate documents and protection in place, he is also a fierce litigator having run a number of precedent cases at previous firms.
