Ison Harrison were proud to support The Snappy Trust throughout 2023.
The Snappy Trust are a small York based charity who are dedicated to maximising the personal development of children and young people with a wide range of disabilities. They provide a safe space and community that supports their members by offering a wide range of opportunities, allowing them to explore new activities and gain life skills that may not be easily accessed elsewhere.
In 2023, we were able to support the Snappy Trust by:
- Organising regular Quiz and Networking Events for businesses local to York in aid of The Snappy Trust;
- Hosting a Coffee and Cake morning, attended by Phoebe Ralston, Ami Law and Olivia Williams, to provide families and parents with the opportunities to share their experiences and receive benefits advice from our external benefits advisor and free legal advice from our attending solicitors;
- Attending their fabulous annual Fundraiser Ball at Carlton Towers;
- Visits to the centre to spend time with the children and young adults;
- Offering free legal advice to members and their parents;
- Remaining a Club 100 member to provide ongoing support to the charity.
- Organising a Christmas card competition where members from Senior Snappy and Saturday Snappy designed Christmas cards. The winners received Amazon vouchers and had their designs printed on to cards to send to family and friends;
December was full of festive cheer as we got involved with Snappy’s Santa’s Grotto by donating gifts. Every year The Snappy Trust transform a corner of their Centre into Santa’s Grotto, which is filled to the brim with gifts for children of all ages. Abi Hewison and Ami Law from our Clinical Negligence team chose a wide variety of gifts for us to donate, including teddies, jigsaws, board games, dolls, craft kits and more. Once the gifts had been delivered Santa attended the grotto, accompanied by his trusted elves and each family was invited to have a chat and a song with Santa, before choosing a gift.
The Senior Snappy members attended their annual Christmas dinner and disco in York City Centre where they were able to choose their donated gift and have a boogie with Santa and their friends.
