Today we’re chatting with Reena Bangar from our Immigration team here at Ison Harrison.
Reena is an accredited Senior Caseworker in Immigration and Asylum matters with the Law Society and deals with a wide range of legal aid and privately paying Immigration and Asylum cases.
Q: How long have you worked at Ison Harrison?
I joined the firm in 2019 so I am celebrating 3 years here this month!
Q: What does your day-to-day role involve?
I undertake immigration and asylum work, this ranges from preparing asylum cases, meeting with clients, taking their instructions, drafting witness statements and I also do a whole range of private work such as visa extensions, entry clearance applications, applications for British Nationality etc.
Q: What makes your job interesting?
I enjoy meeting with different types of clients and helping them with their cases.
Q: What do you find challenging about working in immigration?
I think one of the most challenging things is hearing about the lives of some clients and how it has been such a struggle for them.
Q: What do you like doing in your spare time?
I have a little boy and I love spending time with him and taking him to different places. Becoming a parent is the hardest but most rewarding life event but it changes your life completely.
When I have time, I like to read and I love cooking.
Q: If you weren’t an immigration solicitor, what would you be?
I think I would probably have branched out into the events sector!
Q: Any little-known facts about you?
I was a wedding event coordinator at the same time I was studying and during my training contract.
