Our client, Kickboxing champion and proud father of two, Mr Chris Drabble, recently received £135,000.00 in settlement following an accident at work on the 7th September 2015.

He suffered a significant fracture dislocation of his wrist when the boom on a genie lift fell towards him and he put his hands out to protect himself.  Chris underwent several operations which resulted in a lengthy spell out of work.

The injury made Chris ‘feel useless,’ as he could no longer participate in a sport he once loved, kickboxing. Chris was a former kick boxing champion; and the injury sustained meant he now cannot compete .

There had been clear breaches of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

The claim was presented to his employers and we were able to secure an early admission of liability, private rehabilitation and interim payments to aid Chris’ recovery.

The case settled in January 2018 and Chris was very pleased with the result which enabled him to get his life back-on-track and take a well deserve holiday with his daughters.

Using part of the monies from his settlement, Chris decided to take his two daughters on Holiday to Turkey to spend some quality time with them.
