Well, what a year it’s been!
We started off the year with an announcement that we were launching The Yorkshire Law Firm Challenge, with the aim of getting out and about and raising money for five very special charities.
We had a target of reaching £3,000, with our staff aiming to do as many virtual laps around the perimeter of Yorkshire as we could over the course of 2021. This could be completed in various ways – walking, running or cycling.
Not only that, but we teamed up with Welcome to Yorkshire’s #Walkshire campaign to encourage walks around our region, sponsoring a different walk each month.
The challenge was set…could our staff complete enough activities to raise as much money as possible for charity? Yes! And in fact, we smashed our target by quite a lot…the total we have now raised is £5000!
The five charities we have been raising money for are:
- Barnsley Hospice
- Prince of Wales Hospice
- Little Hiccups
- Erb’s Palsy Group
- INQUEST
Thanks to our fantastic IH team, this means each charity will receive £1,000.
Here are the stats for The Yorkshire Law Firm Challenge…
- 18,664 miles (41 laps of Yorkshire) completed in 2021
- 4,387 activities completed
- 585,164 feet climbed in total (that’s 83 times up the Yorkshire Three Peaks!)
We’d like to thank every member of the IH team who has gone above and beyond with this challenge.
Throughout the year, we’ve had some real determination and dedication from quite a few members of the team and we have to give particular thanks to our conveyancing expert, Nicky Roughton, for the epic achievements she has made single-handedly! Not only did she always take some fantastic photos when out and about on her travels, she has tirelessly supported The Yorkshire Law Firm Challenge throughout the year and notched up an impressive 2,503 miles with an elevation of 55,679 feet!
An amazing achievement by all, and we are delighted to be able to donate a total of £5,000 to charity.
