We’re pleased to announce we will be exhibiting at the Help to Buy Show in Birmingham on Saturday 17th March.
We will be attending the event with an expert team to help first time buyers from all over the country. The shows are a great source of information for first time buyers where specialist solicitors, financial advisors and property experts can answer any queries and advise you on how you should navigate the Help to Buy market.
What is Help to Buy?
This Government scheme was announced in the March 2013 budget. Help to Buy takes in various forms, but the most popular has been the Equity Loan, which was designed to help first time buyers who might be struggling to save a deposit. A Help to Buy equity loan is available until 2021, but is restricted to new build properties. In this scheme you only need to save 5% of your property price as a deposit and the Government will lend you up to a maximum of 20% in addition. With a 75% mortgage therefore required, you will be open to more generous terms, and also the Government charge no interest on the loan for the first five years.
Other Government-backed Help to Buy schemes, such as the Help To Buy ISA, remain available.
Help to Buy has undoubtedly boosted the property market and the show in Birmingham is a great opportunity to get the shared wisdom of a large number of property experts including, of course, Ison Harrison. We’re also pleased to announce we’ll be holding a ‘Build a Lego House’ competition where the best 3 Lego houses built in under 15 minutes will win a prize.
Please do stop by our stand and speak to one of our friendly team – we look forward to seeing you!
