Mr M was a victim of a serious unprovoked assault when hit from behind and stabbed in the back.

His injuries consisted of mental health injuries and scarring to his torso.

The CICA made an award for his disabling mental injury in the sum of £4960.00 as the award of £6200 was reduced as it was felt that the incident was only responsible for an 80% exacerbation of a preexisting mental health condition.

With serious scarring, he received 30% of the applicable tariff of £1000 and received £300.00.

The application did include a claim for loss of earnings after the qualifying 28 week period resulting in an additional loss of earnings payment of £13,675.00 for a further 125 weeks and a future loss of earnings payment of £5619.40 for a further 52 weeks.

In total Mr M received over £24,000.00 by making his Application to the CICA.
