We are proud to announce we have successfully raised £7,630 through our firm’s participation in an annual charity will-writing campaign, placing us among the top contributors nationwide and the third highest in the North East.

At Ison Harrison, we have been involved in the Will Aid campaign since 1998 and accumulated a total of £119,187 by donating our time and expertise to write wills. Instead of charging standard fees, our firm encourages clients to contribute to Will Aid.

The funds raised are distributed among the campaign’s partner charities, which support various causes in the UK and globally.

Dominic Mackenzie, our Head of Wills and Probate, expressed pride in the firm’s involvement:

“We are thrilled to be part of Will Aid and delighted to provide so many with the peace of mind that comes from having a professionally written will. Raising such a substantial amount for charity is a testament to our team’s dedication.”

The Will Aid campaign has been instrumental in generating over £24 million for charity since its inception in 1988, thanks to the generosity of participating solicitors. These contributions have also led to millions more in pledged legacies.

Jonathan Chase, Chair of Will Aid, praised Ison Harrison:

“Congratulations to Ison Harrison for their impressive fundraising. Their volunteer work is invaluable, providing both peace of mind to clients and essential funds to our partner charities.”

Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid’s Campaign Director, echoed these sentiments:

“The collective effort of everyone involved in this year’s campaign has been outstanding. By donating their time and expertise, solicitors have helped protect individuals’ wishes while supporting charities that make a significant impact.”

Will Aid takes place every November, during which solicitors waive their usual fee for drafting a basic will, instead asking clients to make a donation to the campaign. The suggested donation is £100 for a single will and £180 for a pair of mirror wills. Proceeds are divided among Will Aid’s partner charities, including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF, and Trócaire.

To continue meeting the demand, Will Aid seeks more solicitors to join the initiative. For additional information, visit www.willaid.org.uk.
