Employees who raise concerns to their employers whether in relation to a possible breach of health and safety, illegal activity or providing details of attempts to cover up or disguise wrongdoing are protected from being dismissed. In order to qualify for protection under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998, you must believe that a wrongdoing has occurred, or is likely to occur and it needs to relate to specific subject matters, such as:
- health and safety
- criminal offences
- damage to environment
