York Solicitor, Jess Bourke, attended a local networking event for the Wilberforce Trust on Thursday 26th September, alongside other local private client solicitors hosted at the York Bird of Prey Centre.

The ‘Legal Eagles’ networking event was an opportunity for local solicitors to come together and support The Wilberforce Trust and their charity work.

The Wilberforce Trust is a fantastic local charity that supports people with sight and hearing loss through providing supported accommodation, low vision clinic, visual awareness training and activities within the living and learning zone. The charity works to support individuals and families throughout their lives.

The Wilberforce Trust organised the day to spark awareness of their Sight, Sound and Senses appeal, to discuss the launch of their legacy pack and share with us their exciting new plans for sight and hearing loss care in York.

The visit included a talk and presentation from the Trustees, a thought sharing exercise on fundraising with local solicitors followed by an opportunity to meet and handle the birds of prey.

The trust highlighted throughout the day that the Wilberforce Trust strongly rely on donations and legacies left in wills in order to keep up the important work they do. The trust use 100% of any funds raised to go towards this work and helping local people with sensory loss to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Thank you for inviting us to learn more about the incredible work of the charity and discover the different ways the charity can be supported.
