Family awarded £21,500 after man dies of haemothorax following broken ribs

Posted on

A 44 year old man saw his GP a few days after being discharged from hospital following treatment for broken ribs.

Although he was complaining of difficulty breathing and severe pain the GP failed to listen to or examine his chest. The following day he collapsed and died in his mother’s car on the way to A&E. In addition to pursuing a claim for compensation we arranged inquest representation for the family.

Settlement of £21,500.00 negotiated by an experienced partner in our Clinical Negligence Department. We can be contacted on 0113 284 5000 or clinneg@isonharrison.co.uk
