This year we are proud to have supported the Erb’s Palsy Group Silver Anniversary Ball.

The Silver Anniversary Ball celebrated 25 years of the Erb’s Palsy Group and was held at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds. Tickets for the ball included a drinks reception, three-course set menu and four bottles of wine per table of ten people. There were lots of fundraising events on the night, and Ison Harrison donated a Gin hamper as a raffle prize. We also purchased tickets for 3 full tables at the event; one for a team from Ison Harrison, one for the charity Little Hiccups and one for ten Erb’s Palsy Group family members.

The evening was hosted by Karen Hillyer and Debbie Robinson from the Erb’s Palsy Group and there was a presentation which showcased why they work so hard and the positive affect it has on their members.

The evening was a real celebration of everything the charity has achieved; everyone was friendly and in high spirits and a fun evening was had by everyone who attended. It was a good chance for our staff to meet up with the board members face to face as a lot of communication takes place via e-mail or telephone.

Ison Harrison is extremely proud to support the Erb’s Palsy Group and the wonderful work they do. We also took this opportunity to present them with our donation as they were chosen as one of our shortlisted charities to receive a donation as part of our Big 40 celebrations.

Erb’s Palsy Awareness Week

This year, the ball fits nicely in line with the annual Erb’s Palsy Awareness Week, which runs from 22nd October, and Ison Harrison are again running the Erb’s Palsy Group’s Christmas Card Competition. The winner and two runners up will have their Christmas Card design printed onto cards. The first prize is £100 Amazon voucher and the two runners up will receive a £50 Amazon voucher each.

What is Erb’s Palsy?

Erb’s Palsy is a rare birth condition that affects one in 1800 new-born babies. It is caused by excessive traction or force during birth, which can cause permanent nerve damage or paralysis from the shoulder to the fingers, and it is often the result of medical professional error.

Erb’s Palsy is a condition very close to our hearts at Ison Harrison. Through our clinical negligence department we have helped many children and their families get their lives back on track after suffering an Erb’s Palsy injury .

Much of this work has been undertaken by James Thompson, our Head of Clinical Negligence, who is a specialist solicitor in Erb’s Palsy cases and is the only north-based solicitor recommended by the Erb’s Palsy Group.

We very much enjoyed attending the Erb’s Palsy Group Silver Anniversary Ball and catching up with former clients and friends – keep an eye out for photos on our social media channels!
