Wills and Trusts
Ison Harrison has been drafting wills for as long as the firm has been in existence and we currently look after over 40,000 wills for our clients throughout Yorkshire and further afield.
Value for money is central to our services and each of our team members is dedicated to providing a prompt, professional and personal service to our clients. We recognise that whilst you are reluctant to consider such matters, you will want to ensure that you make appropriate financial plans in the event of your death and we pride ourselves on making the process as straightforward and hassle-free as possible.
Without a will, there can be a lot of unnecessary difficulty and heartache. Strict laws dictate what happens to your estate if you die without a will- with potentially dramatic consequences. For example, your spouse could be forced to sell your home in order to divide up your estate, or it could pass into the hands of some distant relative instead of the people who are important to you.
Before advising you we need to listen. Unless we understand exactly what your intentions are, in different situations which may arise, we cannot guarantee giving you the best advice. You will want your wishes to be fully understood and expressed clearly and need our advice to be tax efficient, considered and timely … and it will be!
In your will you can clearly express your wishes regarding:-
- Your choice of executor
- Who should act as a legal guardian for your children and how you will provide for dependants
- How you would like your funeral to be conducted
- Whether you want to donate your organs or leave your body to science
- Mitigation of Inheritance Tax
- Provision for charities
- Stating who you wish to receive the various parts of your estate – your house, money, valuable and sentimental items
As your circumstances alter, it is easy to change the provisions in your will. You can make simple amendments by adding a codicil or by re-writing the will.
Our reputation for clear advice, based on our knowledge of the law and our avoidance of jargon, puts us ahead of many other firms. This may have something to do with the fact that your case will always be dealt with, or be closely supervised by, a specialist Private Client partner.
Making a will makes a lot of sense…it is straightforward, inexpensive and gives you peace of mind for the future. Prices start at just £125.00 plus VAT for a single will and £175.00 plus VAT for mirror wills (for married couples or long term partners).« Go backContact us »
