Career Transition Partnership (CTP) – Resettlement Support for Service Leavers

As a firm that supports current and former members of the Armed Forces, Ison Harrison regularly highlights organisations and services that may be beneficial during the transition from military to civilian life. One such organisation is the Career Transition Partnership (CTP).

Please note that Ison Harrison does not provide these resettlement services. The information below is intended to raise awareness of support that is available through the CTP.

What is the Career Transition Partnership?

The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is the Ministry of Defence’s official provider of resettlement services, delivered in partnership with Right Management. For more than 20 years, the CTP has supported Service leavers as they transition from military service into civilian employment and training opportunities.

Support Available Through the CTP

The CTP offers a wide range of support to eligible Service leavers, including:

  • Career transition guidance and one-to-one advice
  • Skills workshops and vocational training courses
  • Employment support and job search assistance
  • Access to recruitment events and employer presentations
  • Advice on further training and qualifications
  • Support with wider resettlement matters, including finance, pensions, housing and wellbeing

The organisation operates a network of Resettlement Centres across the UK and Germany, staffed by career consultants and support personnel who provide guidance throughout the resettlement process.

Specialist Support

For wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, CTP Assist offers tailored support designed to help individuals identify and achieve sustainable civilian career opportunities.

Employment Opportunities

The CTP also provides access to a range of employment initiatives, including:

  • Employment fairs across the UK
  • Company presentations and networking opportunities
  • Access to RightJob, an online job portal featuring vacancies aimed at the Armed Forces community
  • Trial Attachments, which allow Service leavers to gain experience in civilian roles before making longer-term career decisions

Why Consider Using the CTP?

Former members of the Armed Forces bring a wealth of valuable skills to civilian employment and are highly regarded by employers. Taking advantage of the support available through the CTP can help Service leavers develop clear career objectives, build networks, identify suitable opportunities and enhance their existing skills.
